Mike Ward has won the King Charles III Coronation Salver at Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club, with a total of 44 points.
Over the weekend of the King’s coronation, 83 members of Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club took to the course chasing the Club’s first multi-tee trophy: the King Charles III Coronation Salver.
Divided into 3 divisions, the multi-tee competition encompassed all members of the Club, allowing them to elect which tees they played from.
The overall winner, and taking the trophy, was Mike Ward (playing in Division 1) with 44 points. Luke Gales topped Division 2 and Ian Wood headed Division 3.
The Salver, donated by Club Captain Sean Millward and Ladies’ Captain Chris Gould, will remain a permanent fixture in the Club’s calendar.
