The Met Office are warning of the potential for severe weather towards the end of the weekend as a depression tracks over the UK.
A yellow weather warning has been issued for heavy rain on from early on Sunday, however there continues to be a great deal of uncertainty in the exact forecast. It is expected that the bad weather will move in late on Saturday evening, continuing to sweep across the UK throughout Sunday and could bring up to 50mm of rainfall.
Island residents are being made aware of the risk of flooding due to the expected heavy rain, as well as very strong winds and large waves – winds gusting up to 60mph.
The Met Office say there could be sufficient disruption to transport and the severe weather could make outdoor activities dangerous.
