A special cricket memorial match is set to take place to celebrate the life of Martin Poynter, marking 10 years since his passing.
Family, friends and members of the local community will gather at Newclose County Cricket Ground in Blackwater on Sunday (29th June) for a 25-over cricket match in Martin’s memory.
The game is scheduled to begin at 14:00.
The memorial event will honour firefighter Martin’s deep love for the sport and will serve as a tribute to his life. Organisers are encouraging anyone who knew Martin or wishes to pay their respects to attend.
After the match, attendees are invited to stay on for a BBQ and drinks to continue the celebration and share memories.
Martin’s family have described the event as a heartfelt opportunity to come together and remember someone who made a lasting impact on those around him.
