A man whose girlfriend reported him to the Police for drink driving has been disqualified for 21 months and fined £120.
57-year-old Jonathan Nash, of Westcourt Close in Shorwell, blew 79 when he was caught by Police behind the wheel in Carisbrooke on 15th August.
Police received a phone call from a female informant shortly before 13:00 in the afternoon reporting that Nash was driving from Shorwell to Carisbrooke to purchase more alcohol. Officers were deployed and located Nash driving a black Peugeot 206 CC in a car park opposite the Co-Op in Carisbrooke High Street.
Unemployed Nash denied consuming alcohol but failed a roadside breath test, later going on to blow twice the drink-drive limit on the evidential breathalyser.
Defending, James Cameron said that his client was very ashamed of what he did that day and accepts that he drove the car, pleaded guilty to the offence. At the time he was struggling with anxiety and depression and has since started speaking to Inclusion.
Magistrates handed down a 21-month driving ban and fined Jonathan £120, as well as ordering him to pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge.

Unemployed yet can find enough cash to drink and drive?
What are we teaching future generations?
Scroungers like him should be made an example of!
21 months ban and a pittance of a fine Do our judges have all their spines removed? Pathetic
UK jails now full of the worlds dross, so only the most vile of our own can now be jailed, AND they know it, so little to loose.
THAT is the problem
Ex-girlfriend, presumably?
What a bitch…….
James Cameron is one greasy solicitor!
Do you mean that he is good at his job?
