UPDATED: Emergency services are currently attending a RTC on Forest Road, Newport, which has trapped one person.
Fire crews are working to free an elderly man who is trapped in his vehicle, a green Ford Fiesta, after colliding with a lamp post on a traffic Island.
Forest Road has been closed in both directions this afternoon by Police.
UPDATED @ 15:35: An elderly man has been cut free from the wreckage of his vehicle this afternoon. It is currently unknown if a male passenger was injured in the incident.
Motorists are being warned of traffic delays in the area.
The incident happened shortly after 14:30.
