The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have successfully freed a man trapped underneath a car in Newport.
1 appliance and the rescue tender were called to Hawthorn Close off Sylvan Drive at just before 15:00 following reports of a male trapped by his ankles.
Neighbours raised the alarm after hearing a loud bang and discovering the car had pinned the man against the garage. They’ve decscribed the situation as ‘an accident waiting to happen’ as the vehicle had been raised on blocks for sometime.
