Firefighters from Newport Fire Station have tonight (Tuesday) rescued a man from the River Medina.
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were alerted by Police shortly after 23:20 to reports of an adult male in danger on the River Medina at Seaclose off Fairlee Road.
Two appliances and a specialist rescue unit were mobilised and quickly rescued the individual, who had climbed down a bank.
The incident has now been brought to a close.
