32-year-old Liam Trott has been jailed after breaching a restraining order by speaking to his victim and kissing her – just months after being warned by the courts to stay away.
Trott, of Grange Road in Shanklin, appeared before the Isle of Wight Crown Court last week, where he was sentenced for 2 offences of harassment by breaching a restraining order. He admitted the offences on 14th June.
The court heard that on 11th June this year, Trott entered Beach House Lane in Bembridge – an area he was banned from – and made contact with the woman he was prohibited from approaching under the terms of a 7-year restraining order imposed by the Crown Court on 7th February 2025.
This latest offence follows another breach of the restraining order earlier this year. On 25th February, Trott appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court after being arrested for contacting the same woman via a WhatsApp group on 23rd February – just 2 weeks after receiving a 14-month suspended prison sentence, alongside the restraining order.
Defending him at the time, Nick Muir said Trott had been ‘overcome with emotion’ while looking through old photos and messages and had acted ‘stupidly and immaturely’. The court was told he had been spiralling out of control, but expressed regret and a willingness to engage with probation.
The matter was sent up to the Crown Court.
Within a matter of months, he has gone on to commit these latest offences, for which he has now received a sentence of 36 months’ imprisonment.

Expensive kiss….
A good swift beating May remind him of his restrictions total loser weirdo.
Poor woman must have been scared & horrified. Hopefully she’ll feel more relaxed with him out of the way for now. You have to hope he’ll get treatment while he’s jailed but doubt it
