A 30-year-old man has suffered bites to his hand and leg after being attacked by a dog in Ryde at the weekend, prompting a police appeal to identify the individual who left the scene with the animal.
The incident occurred on George Street, opposite Ryde Library, at around 17:00 on Saturday (4th October), with the victim later attending St Mary’s Hospital in Newport for treatment to minor injuries.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary say efforts are ongoing to identify a man who walked away from the area with the dog following the incident.
Police are asking anyone who was in the George Street area at the time and saw anything suspicious to call 101 and quote incident number 44250449745.
Officers are also appealing for anyone with relevant CCTV, dashcam, mobile phone or doorbell camera footage to come forward.
