A Newport man has denied that his dog was dangerously out of control when it bit a woman at a care facility in Freshwater last year.
Jason Turner, 51, of Lugley Street in Newport, appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on Tuesday (18th March) where he denied being the owner/person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury.
It is alleged that on 21st August 2024, at The Gouldings in Freshwater, Turner’s dog ‘Winnie’ – a Dogue de Bordeaux – bit a member of staff, causing life-changing injuries to her face.
The case was adjourned until 28th April, when Turner will appear at the Isle of Wight Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
