The festive spirit was high as law firm Lawdit celebrated the opening of their new offices on St James’ Square in the heart of Newport. At an event attended by almost 70 guests including many Lawdit clients and dignitaries who joined the Lawdit team for this very special event. Mince pies and mulled wine added to the occasion, with the official ribbon cutting conducted by Co-Founder Michael Coyle and Director Mark Reed who heads the Isle of Wight office. Lawdit was founded in 2001 and has since grown to become one of the most respected law firms in the UK. Michael comments:
“We had been looking to relocate our Newport offices for some time and our decision to move to St James’ Square was an easy one being more central to raise the firm’s profile on the Island and bringing a much-needed lift to the centre of town, helping to rejuvenation the much-maligned and beleaguered High Street.”
Who was moving into the building has been the subject of speculation for many weeks since a sign was posted in the window with a simple “Coming Soon” and large question mark. This continued as renovations took place to the building and the offices took shape with the Lawdit sign only being revealed on the day. Mr Graham Biss BEM DL who attended the opening event comments:
“So nice to see a local business grow, prosper and importantly come into the high street and the heart of our county town, Newport. Congratulation on the new office and continue success.”
Following the ribbon cutting a short talk was given by Michael and Mark reflecting the importance of this latest move and how it provides even easier access to Lawdit’s wide range of professional legal services. One key aspect of this was how the island office compliments their Southampton and London offices to provide support across their rapidly growing client portfolio both on and off the island, including internationally, adding:
“We have a dedicated team of three solicitors on the island to answer any commercial, civil, and family disputes. This is quite frankly an exciting time for us all and we look forward to supporting even more Island businesses and residents over the months and years ahead.”
