Island businesses are being invited to meet the next generation of Island entrepreneurs at Quay Arts next month.
Since last October, secondary school student teams across the Island have been involved in the Young Enterprise Company Programme. This means that the teams launch a business and then develop and trade for the academic year.
All the teams had to cope with the usual challenges of launching and running a business, working with a volunteer business advisor who can guide them in their thinking.
The competition is reaching its conclusion with the Isle of Wight Grand Final on Tuesday 9th May from 09:00 – 12:00 at Minghella Theatre, Quay Arts, Newport.
This is an open invitation for all Island business people to see these creative businesses and to engage with the student teams.
The format is that the teams have a trade stand each for the first hour (09:00 – 10:00) then formal presentations thereafter. If you are interested but can only come for a limited time, that is fine. The most valuable time for the students is in the first hour when they can chat about their ideas and respond to questions.
If you would like to meet the student teams on 9th May, or for more event details, contact David Thornton, CEO of Ed-WISE, by emailing [email protected].
