UPDATED: Yarmouth RNLI have launched this evening (Thursday) following reports of a boat taking on water and sinking off of the West coast of the Island.
The All Weather Lifeboat from Yarmouth was tasked to launch by Solent Coastguard shortly before 18:00 and has proceeded to Colwell Bay.
UPDATE @ 18:30 – The stricken boat is under tow by Yarmouth lifeboat towards Yarmouth Harbour this evening in an attempt to keep the vessel afloat.
The smaller Y-boat has been launched into the water from the ALB and two crew members are working on the sinking boat.
UPDATE @ 19:00 – The casualty and casualty vessel have been taken to Yarmouth Harbour this evening.
