36-year-old James Fothergill, a Niton man accused of a child sex offence, is yet to enter a plea as his Crown Court case has been delayed for the third time.
Mr Fothergill, of Newport Road, appeared before Judge David Melville KC at the Isle of Wight Crown Court yesterday (Monday).
The local thespian faces a single charge of arranging/facilitating the commission of an offence of sexual activity with a child/incite/cause to engage in penetration.
The alleged offence, which saw Mr Fothergill attempt to meet a child in Newport’s Matalan car park, is said to have taken place on 9th July.
Despite first appearing before the court back in July, no plea has yet been entered.
This latest adjournment was because of issues with Mr Fothergill’s Legal Aid application. Judge Melville requested that the application be expedited so that progress in the case can be made as soon as possible.
The case has been adjourned until 27th October.

Who? This guy who hasn’t yet appeared in court to answer the charges and may be completely blameless?
Does the phrase ‘innocent until proven guilty’ resonate with you at all?
