This is your weekly round-up of some of the latest court cases heard at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court.

Monday 31st March – Friday 4th April 2024
• Liam Findlay, 35, of Carisbrooke Road, Newport pleaded guilty to theft from a shop. He was fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 costs, £32 surcharge and £24 compensation.
• Reece Sullivan, 33, of Lower Furlongs, Brading pleaded guilty to criminal damage. He was ordered to pay £540 compensation.
He also pleaded guilty to a charge of using threatening / abusive words / behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs.
• Jason Blake, 38, of West Street, Newport pleaded guilty to common assault. He was fined £162.
• Joshua Green, 35, of care of Windmill Close, Cowes pleaded guilty to criminal damage. He was ordered to pay £696 compensation.
• Perry Masters, 42, of Barton Road, Newport pleaded guilty to theft from a shop. He was ordered to pay £8.50 compensation and a fine of £80.
• Callum Steele, 30, of Victoria Avenue, Shanklin pleaded guilty to using a handheld mobile phone / device while driving a motor vehicle on a road and drug driving (cannabis). He was banned from driving for 24 months and made subject to a 12-month community order with 120 hours of unpaid work attached. He was ordered to pay £85 costs.
• Oliver Cooper, 21, of Whitcombe Road, Gatcombe pleaded guilty to drug driving (cannabis). He was banned from driving for 3 years, fined £484 and ordered to pay £85 costs.
• Aiden Hall, 31, of Regent Street, Shanklin pleaded guilty to drug driving (BZE). He was banned from driving for 29 months and made subject to a 12-month community order with 150 hours of unpaid work attached. He was ordered to pay £85 costs with a £114 surcharge.
• Charley Rayner, 25, of Quay Lane, Brading pleaded guilty to drug driving (cannabis) and possession of cannabis. She was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £233 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £93 surcharge.
• Raymond Russell, 29, of Ash Lane, Newport pleaded guilty to drug driving (cannabis) and possession of cannabis. He was banned from driving for 3 years, fined £219 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £88 surcharge.
• Amanda Stables, 58, of Brook Road, Calbourne pleaded guilty to drink driving (142. She was banned from driving for 36 months, handed an 8-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £154 surcharge.
• Alexander Currie, 40, of South Bank Road, East Cowes pleaded guilty to drink driving (64), 2x driving whilst disqualified and 2x driving without insurance. He was banned from driving for 48 months, handed an 8-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months, and ordered to complete an alcohol abstinence and monitoring programme for 120 days, with 20 rehabilitation days to be completed.
