Monday 20th November – Friday 24th November 2023
• Liam Cairns, 30, of Pineview Drive, Newport pleaded guilty to 2 charges of drug driving (cocaine and BZE). He was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £48 surcharge. • Dalton Reynolds, 25, of Terminus Road, Cowes pleaded guilty to failing to comply with the notification requirements of the sex offenders register. He was fined £230 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £92 surcharge. • Jack Ryland, 21, of Victoria Road, Yarmouth pleaded guilty to drug driving (cannabis), driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and driving without insurance. He was banned from driving for 3 years, fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £48 surcharge. • Joshua Begg, 20, of Birch Gardens, Binstead pleaded guilty to drug driving (BZE). He was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £60 and ordered to pay £40 costs with a $24 surcharge. • Matthew Chatfield, 29, of The Avenue, Totland Bay pleaded guilty of drug driving (cocaine), drug driving (BZE) and drug driving (cannabis). He was banned from driving for 17 months and made subject to a 12-month community order with 40 hours of unpaid work attached. He was ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £114 surcharge. • Ben Williams, 21, of High Street, Ventnor pleaded guilty to drink driving (125 in blood). He was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £184 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £74 surcharge. • Perry Masters, 40, of Cross Lane, Newport pleaded guilty to theft from a shop. He was fined £80 and ordered to pay £35 compensation and £85 costs. • Linton Cider, 25, of Medeway, Lake pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled drug of Class B – cannabis. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £32 surcharge. He was fined a further £40 after pleading guilty to using threatening / abusive words / behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress. • David Darwood, 21, care of Upper Hinton Road, Bournemouth pleaded guilty to criminal damage. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £314.47 compensation plus £85 costs and a £16 surcharge. • Billy Cokes, 31, of Church Lane, East Cowes – now of Southampton – pleaded guilty to failing to provide specimen for analysis – vehicle driver, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance.. He was handed a 20-week prison sentence, suspended for 15 months. He was further banned from driving for 48 months. He was ordered to pay £650 costs and a £154 surcharge. • Harry Downer, 23, of Windmill Lane, Freshwater pleaded guilty to criminal damage and failing to surrender to police / court bail. He was made subject to a 12-month community order with 150 hours of unpaid work and 30 rehabilitation days attached. He was found guilty of assault by beating. Downer was ordered to pay£230 compensation and a £114 surcharge. He was also made subject to a restraining order. • Declan Clarke, 24, of Riboleau Street, Ryde pleaded guilty to assault by beating of an emergency worker. He was fined £300 and ordered to pay £50 compensation, £85 costs and a £120 surcharge. • Austin Collinstone, 49, of West Street, Newport pleaded guilty to possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, namely a kitchen knife. He was handed a 12-month community order, fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £114 surcharge. • Kenneth Higham, 64, of Salters Road, Ryde pleaded guilty to assault by beating of an emergency worker and using threatening / abusive words / behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distresss. He was fined £150 and ordered to pay £50 compensation, £85 costs and a £60 surcharge. • Joshua Rotondo, 21, of Preston Close, Ryde pleaded guilty to drug driving (cannabis). He was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £276 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £110 surcharge. • Charlotte Browne, 45, of Amherst Place, Ryde pleaded guilty to failing to provide specimen for analysis – vehicle driver. She was banned from driving for 34 months, fined £120 and made subject to an 18-month community order. • Ricky Scott, 47, of Cothey Butts, Ryde, pleaded guilty to driving a large good vehicle or passenger carrying vehicle at a speed exceeding 30 miles an hour. He was handed 3 points on his licence, fined £100 and ordered to pay a £40 surcharge.
Single Justice Procedure
• Arianne Warren, of Rowan Tree Driver in Seaview, pleaded guilty to speeding. She was handed a £40 fine and 3 penalty points. She was ordered to pay £90 costs and a £16 surcharge. • James Lee-Foster, of Gunville Road in Newport, was fined £220 for keeping a vehicle without a valid vehicle licence (tax). He was ordered to pay £121.67 in back duty and £85 costs. • Sasha Bryan, of Stower Place in Sandown, was handed 4 penalty points and fined £440 for speeding. She was ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £176 surcharge.
