This is your weekly round-up of some of the latest court cases heard at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court.

It wasn’t a very Merry Christmas for some..
Monday 20th December – Friday 24th December 2021
• Darren Paul Cook, 36, of Cockleton Lane in Gurnard, was given a 4 month prison sentence after pleading guilty to criminal damage, threats of criminal damage, assault by beating and possession of a Class A drug.
• Leslies Williams, 64, of Fernhill in Wootton, pleaded guilty to using threatening/abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay costs of £85 with a £22 surcharge.
• Ben Gerrard, 19, of Adelaide Grove in East Cowes, pleaded guilty to drink driving and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence. He was disqualified from driving for 20 months, fined £250 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge.
• Helen Shoulder, 54, of Verwood Drive in Binstead, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle after refusal of a driving licence on the account of disability and speeding – in excess of 30mph. She was given 6 penalty points and fined £120, plus fined a further £40 for the speeding offence. She was ordered to also pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge.
• Ross Korol, 28, of Arctic Road in Cowes, pleaded guilty to criminal damage. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £22 surcharge.
• Michael Keywood, 49, of Wavesound Close in Bembridge, pleaded guilty to making indecent photographs/pseudo-photographs of a child, namely 18x Category A, 25x Category B and 226x Category C still and moving images. His case was sent to the Crown Court for sentencing on 19th January 2022.
