This is your weekly round-up of some of the latest court cases heard at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court.

Monday 19th May – Friday 23rd May 2025
• Dean Brewer, 38, of Fort Street in Sandown, admitted theft from a shop. He was ordered to pay costs of £40 and £5 compensation.
• Gemma Case, 48, of Hogan Road in Newport, admitted possession of a controlled drug of class-A (heroin). She was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and and a £48 surcharge fee.
• Kevin Greenwood, 45, of West Street in Ryde, admitted 3x theft from a shop. He was handed a 10-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months. He was also ordered to pay compensation of £260.
• Alan Kubacki, 19, of Nunwell Street in Sandown, admitted possession of a knife/bladed article in a public place, drug driving (cannabis), driving without a licence and driving without insurance. He was handed a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months. He was also ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work and 15 rehabilitation days.
• Aaron Ford, 36, of Longhalves in Freshwater, admitted assault by beating. He was handed a 12-month community order with 15 rehabilitation activity days attached. He was also ordered to pay compensation of £250.
• Megan Startin, 33, of HMP Bronzefield, admitted 2x drug driving. She was handed a 3-year driving ban and fined £200 and ordered to pay costs of £85.
