Lanesend Primary School has been named the winner of Dance Live 2025, taking the top spot at the regional final held at Portsmouth Guildhall on Thursday (24th April) with their stunning performance, ‘Harmony of the Elements’.
The school has expressed pride in its pupils’ efforts, with all children involved being praised for their hard work and creativity. Their performance stood out among hundreds of entries from schools across the region during this year’s competition.
Also celebrating success is The Bay CE Primary School (primary site), which secured an impressive third place at the same final. Their performance, centred on the concept of perfection in an imperfect world, was applauded by judges for its professionalism and originality.
The judges highlighted the school’s ability to engage every child in a meaningful and thought-provoking piece. They noted that the children clearly enjoyed themselves and described the performance as ‘very professional’.
Mrs Steph Dunford, Dance Live Coordinator at The Bay CE School, has said:
“We could not be prouder of our Dance Live team; they have all worked so hard to perfect the performance and it has paid off.”

Head of School (Primary), Mrs Nina Lawrence, added:
“We are delighted for our children and staff team, who have all dedicated so much time to delivering such a fantastic performance.
“We would also like to thank their family members, who have supported them along their journey to the final and were there to cheer them on.”
Dance Live continues to be a key event in the calendar for many Isle of Wight schools, celebrating creativity, teamwork and performance on a regional stage.
