The Shanklin and Sandown Golf Club Ladies’ Christmas Cracker competition was finally able to take place last Tuesday (14th December) after rain forced a postponement earlier this month.
The competition was scheduled to be played on 7th December, but very heavy rain led to a decision being made to postpone the event. The rain, however, did not deter the ladies from attending the clubhouse on the day for their annual Christmas lunch.
The drawn competition, a 9-hole Texas Scramble, was eventually played on 14th December, when the winners were Anna Garriock, Ruth Graves, Stephanie Hart and Hilary Shaer with 18 points on countback from Sarah Dana, Lorrie Hawkins, Jackie Steven and Sonya Sutton.
