UPDATED: Firefighters have this evening attended a kitchen fire at a property in Hawthorn Close, Newport.
Two appliances from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene off of Sylvan Drive shortly before 20:20 after receiving reports of a property fire.
Island Echo understand that an oven was at fault, leading to firefighters entering the building wearing breathing apparatus and using a hose reel to tackle the flames.
No one was injured in the incident and the fire was extinguished by 20:40.
