THE Isle of Wight Festival 2012 is set to go down in the history books and one Island woman has created something to remind people of their experience and raise money for a local support group.
Judie Rogers of Newport has decided to create keyrings saying ‘I Survived the Isle of Wight Festival 2012’ after being moved by how the Vectis 4X4 Response volunteers went out of their way to help others.
Selling at £3.00 each, 50% of each sale will go directly to the Vectis 4X4 Response group, who have helped thousands of festival-goers this weekend pulling cars out of the rather muddy car park.
Judie, who runs craft and hobby business Purple Jojo’s Craft Designs, said: “I came up with the idea of creating the keyrings as I wanted to help. I was so moved by how so many went out of their way to help others out.
“The Vectis 4×4 Emergency Response Team are all volunteers – One driver now has his 4×4 out of action due to a broken diff and a broken windscreen. But me selling these keyrings I will be helping by giving them some much needed donations”.
