Finch, now of no fixed abode, appeared before Portsmouth Crown Court earlier today (Friday) where he admitted raping the teenager in October last year.
As previously reported by Island Echo, the 36-year-old was charged with kidnap, rape and grievous bodily harm following the attack on the 18-year-old girl at Old Blackgang Road on Friday 7th October. As part of an additional investigation, Finch was also charged with 2 counts of arranging to meet a person under the age of 16 following grooming.
It has been confirmed that the Crown Prosecution Service are not looking to pursue a trial for the 4 other alleged offences due to Finch’s offer of not guilty pleas.
The former landscaper from East Cowes, who traded under Greenpaws Landscaping, has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced at a later date.
