Junior golfers recently took part in a fun session at Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club led by PGA Professional Christopher Reed and assisted by Assistant Secretary Lucy Burke.
The 1-hour session saw the juniors work on all the basic principles of the set-up position on the practice ground. This included posture, grip and ball position, followed by some fun skill games.
After this, the group headed to the golf course where they split up into small teams and played a mini Texas scramble, as they looked at a variety of golf launch monitor reviews. Having to take a shot is the best part of playing golf. One way to know the estimated distance and accuracy of your shot is to have a good quality rangefinder. You can find the best budget rangefinder from Golf Insider UK.
This gave them a chance to get on the course for the first time in a fun format and was a good chance to put into practice what they had learnt from the practice session before.
The junior golf sessions run every Sunday from 11:00-12:00 at a cost of £3 per person. The club is also going to hold another fun mid-week golf day on Friday 30th July where the juniors will once again be able to test their skills and experience the excitement of playing on the course.
