John’s Club, the charity which helps people with both and physical disabilities, has clinched a community spirit award.
They play in the Eastleigh FC Foundation Community Trust Pan Football League, a specialist league for teams fielding disabled players.
The end-of-season awards ceremony was held on the 7th of May and the Johns Club teams were awarded the prestigious Community Spirit award. An award presented to the teams that embody the spirit of disability football to the highest level.
Leanne Gander, the team manager, said:
“I am so proud of the teams, they put so much into the club it is great to see them get some recognition
“The team practices every Thursday night and makes regular trips to the main land to take part in the league. They are due to take part in the Basingstoke disability tournament in early August.”
John Phillips, Founder and Chairman of John’s Club said:
