Jane Wilson has won the Thomas Cup in blustery conditions at Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club on Sunday (7th April). 14 ladies took to a slightly shortened course to vie for this much-coveted trophy. Jane Wilson emerged victorious with 30 points, with Penny Last on 27 points taking 2nd place, on countback, from Bev Whorwood. The Thomas Cup was donated to the Ladies’ Section 52 years ago by Mrs. Alice Thomas, and is played for annually by ladies who have won either a Stableford or Par competition throughout the preceding golfing year.
