Blue skies and soaring temperatures led to idyllic conditions across Seaclose Park for Day 3 of the Isle of Wight Festival 2017 today (Saturday), with a number of A-list celebrities taking advantage of the Summer sunshine.
It was Texas, fronted by Sharleen Spiteri, that kicked off the evening’s Main Stage performances with their first ever appearance at the Isle of Wight Festival. The Kooks and Catfish and the Bottleman followed their crowd-raising performance before headliners Arcade Fire brought Saturday to a close with a stunning performance.
Earlier in the day local band Nakamarra opened the Main Stage with a 30-minute set.
Over in the Big Top it was the likes of Elle Exxe, Mel C and Zara Larsson that entertained revellers alongside Bang Bang Romeo, Space and FooR.
A packed out Kashmir Cafe played host to American band Wheatus, with crowds left waiting in anticipation for the massive hit ‘Teenage Dirtbag’ until the last song of the set.
Away from the stages… International superstar Leona Lewis followed in the footsteps of Rag N Bone Man by visiting the bridge of the Wightlink ferry when she crossed the Solent. The 32-year-old singer, who found fame on X Factor, isn’t actually performing this weekend but is instead soaking up the festival atmosphere.
Leona isn’t the only star to be roaming the festival site; actor Colin Firth visited the Festival today to see his 16-year-old son, Luca, perform on the Hard Rock Stage. Footballer Peter Crouch and his wife Abbey Clancy dropped in by helicopter.
McFly’s Dougie Poynter and former Boyzone star Keith Duffy were also seen to be enjoying the warm conditions. Keith is a great supporter of the Isle of Wight Festival having participated in the annual dragon boat race at Island Harbour several times.
