11-year-old Arthur Attrill achieved the biggest win of his tennis career so far in Southampton at the weekend, winning the 12 and under Regional Tour event to qualify for the forthcoming National tournament in December. 

The Ryde Academy student won the regional qualifying event in Southampton against the Top 12 and under players from across the South West of England, beating the number 1 and 2 seeds on his way to victory.

Arthur, from St Helens, is currently ranked the number 1 player for his age in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight and has qualified to play in the National tournament at Bolton Arena in December as one of the top 48 ranked 12 and under boys in Great Britain.

Arthur trains at Ryde Lawn Tennis Club and is supported by Wightlink through the Isle of Wight Council Talented Athlete Scheme.
