Ryde’s Tim Giles, fresh from recent success in Over 70s events on the mainland and the Island, defeated Havenstreet’s Michael Bulpitt but later lost in 5 sets to 15-year-old Jye Lock, edged out on deuce in the deciding set. Bryce Wilson responded by overcoming Lock in another 5-set battle, while Alex Rorke remained unbeaten for Ryde. The match ended in a 5-5 draw after Bulpitt and Roger Hookey secured the doubles against Giles and Rorke.

Newport Vics B delivered the result of the week with a dominant whitewash, while Havenstreet B and Rising Stars strengthened their positions.
3rd-placed Havenstreet B defeated Ryde Retailers 7-3 in an enthralling contest that saw many matches go to 5 sets. Ryde’s Paul Cates claimed an impressive 5-set win over Havenstreet’s highest-rated player Paul White, who later edged Robin Clegg at deuce in another deciding set. Carl Rye and Mike Prior both won 2 matches, with White adding another, before Havenstreet comfortably took the doubles.
Newport Vics B recorded a resounding 10-0 win against Ryde Resisters, dropping just 1 set across the entire match. Michael Jose was player of the match.
Ryde Rising Stars continued their strong form with a 7-3 victory over Ryde Rogues.

Wroxall Warriors A maintained control at the top as Ryde Odd Balls and Newport Vics C played out a dramatic draw.
The match of the week saw experienced Newport Vics C face newcomers Ryde Odd Balls. Eleven-year-old Ollie Lewis and 14-year-old Toby Payne were joined by Ollie’s father Gareth in his 1st season in the league.
Payne, improving rapidly through the coaching system, won 2 matches, losing only to Debbie Yates. Gareth Lewis also secured 2 wins before narrowly losing to Chris Gordine. Lewis and Payne then defeated Yates and Gordine in a 5-set doubles encounter, with the match finishing 5-5.
Wroxall Warriors A continued their dominance with their 5th 10-0 victory of the season, this time against Shorwell Saviours. Cowes Baptists and Shorwell Saints also recorded important wins.
