The popular Pearl Café on Military Road is set to get a whole new look this Spring thanks to a £200,000 investment by Isle of Wight Pearl. It has been confirmed that the cash injection will see the café connect more to the local environment with new windows allowing customers to really immerse themselves in an iconic view over the English Channel – whatever the weather. There will also be a whole new seating area and a brand-new conservatory redesign with a nod to the Island’s Victorian heritage. The Pearl Café will continue to lead the way as an Island ambassador for local food and drink supporting small-scale producers and offering a menu that has been carefully selected to deliver quality Island delicacies to all those that visit. Lizzie Wade, Venue Manager, says:
“We have 35 years experience as a leading destination on the Isle of Wight and are confident we can deliver new and exciting experiences to our customers again and again starting with our café redesign”. “We have worked hard to bring local ingredients and locally sourced food into the café and it’s been incredibly popular – we are championing the culinary ingredients we have right here on the island as well as showing a commitment to supporting local businesses”.

won’t be that long before it is all on the beach and in the sea – judging by the photo
Not so much that…. When the Military road falls into the sea or gets closed, how will customers get to the cafe ?Seems a good waste of 200k…
Save the money. Won’t be long till the sea claims this building or the road further along. Shame as we have had some really nice afternoon teas in the summer.
Thank goodness for that. I hope they get some decent cutlery
I use to love their food, but when they stopped accepting cash payments
we no longer go there.
We must keep cash or our freedoms will come to an end,
if only people realised.
Hope it means Scampi and also the Chilli meals will be back on the menu.
Do a good breakfast on a Sunday and you will fill with bikers
I’ve often wondered how this place makes any money stuck out in the boondocks like that. I mean you can’t just nip there. Perhaps a luxury hotel and spa complex attached to the pearl business would do the trick. The views out over the Channel are simply staggering.
Untill road is closed ..most probable end of year or early next its really bad now..2 spots less than 12 feet to tarmac.
The moment the Pearl Centre STOPPED taking cash, we stopped going.
We used to spend pounds there every week in the overpriced cafe, but we loved
the location and food.
Good god is this crap still going? who buys ugly pearl necklesses anyway?? same crap in gurnsey..
And Jersey
Nothing wrong with a pearl necklace 😉
