The Isle of Wight has topped the list for the most signatures on a new petition supporting the future of circus arts in the UK – with the much-loved Jay Miller’s Circus praising local residents for their strong and immediate backing.
The petition, which aims to bring circus-related issues to the attention of Parliament, was launched just a few days ago and has already reached 20% of its initial target. It has been shared widely by several circuses across the country, including Jay Miller’s, which regularly performs on the Isle of Wight.
Jay Miller’s took to social media to thank Islanders for their overwhelming response, noting that the Isle of Wight currently holds the highest number of signatures nationwide.
A spokesperson for Jay Millers has said:
“We cannot thank you enough.
“We shared this petition on our Facebook page just 2 days ago, alongside a multiple array of other circuses, and we have already achieved 20% towards our first target.
“The Isle of Wight has shown the most support so far – thank you.”
The petition will remain open for 6 months, with hopes it will gain enough traction to lead to a Parliamentary debate.

stop clowning around , that doesn’t work
The island is run by clowns so nothing surprises me.
50p to use toilets
£2 nightly parking charge along many seafronts
YET VEHICLES CAN PARK ON PAVEMENTS FREE OF CHARGE
24/7 364 DAYS OF THE YEAR IN SANDOWN OUTSIDE THE OLD TOURIST INFORMATION CENTRE
What a joke the island is!
county hall is the big top, the ring master is phil jordan and donna jones is the snake charmer, with quigley and robertson being the snakes.
The real clowns are the full council who make stupid decisions such as the floating bridge, overspend on woke BS, benefit claimants, immigrant support and pandering to every sob story going, rather than give the actual taxpayers value for money
No problem with the circus but what a silly idea
