A pair of Isle of Wight performers have taken top honours at The Best of Burlesque UK Finals in Blackpool, beating competition from 36 acts across 6 categories to bring home prestigious national awards.
Leah Amour and Miss Autumn Star represented the Isle of Wight and the south of England at the event, which attracted some of the country’s best burlesque and variety performers.
Leah Amour was crowned Miss Variety after impressing judges and audiences alike with a sensational pole performance. Her routine showcased both technical skill and a commanding stage presence.
Miss Autumn Star – a well-known burlesque chair dance instructor on the Isle of Wight – won gold in the Best Instructor category. Her performance blended ostrich feather fan artistry, classic tease and aerial hoop elements to earn high praise from a star-studded judging panel, which included music producer Karl Parsons, known for his work with Robbie Williams and Spandau Ballet.
This double win is being hailed as a milestone for the Isle of Wight’s performing arts scene, putting a spotlight on the strength and diversity of the local dance community.
