Brevity, the Isle of Wight’s Literary Handbill, invites aspiring and experienced writers to an informative, inclusive and interactive writing workshop on 16th November at Monkton Arts, Ryde.
Participants can expect prose innovation and poetry experimentation, top tips, exercises and support.
The workshop is led by published writers Maggie Sawkins and Anmarie Bowler.
Maggie has over 25 years’ experience teaching in community and health care settings. She holds an MA with distinction in Creative Writing and is a professional member of the National Association of Writers in Education. Her live literature production ‘Zones of Avoidance’ won the 2013 Ted Hughes Award for New Work in Poetry.
Anmarie is the Editor & Founder of Brevity. She is a writer and theatre maker, with a masters from the playwriting programme at the University of Birmingham. Her play AKA was adapted into a multi-award-winning short film by director Dave Maybrick and Newland Films. She recently served as Head Copy Writer for The Wight Book, a large format hardback that raised money for Island charities.
