An original performance by young people from leading performing and creative arts centre, The BRIT School, will be staged at Mountbatten Isle of Wight next week – and you are invited to watch their free show. The BRIT School provides a unique education for over 1,400 pupils aged between 14 and 19, in music, film, digital design, visual arts, production and performing arts. Mountbatten will host a group of creative teenagers from the Croydon-based school as they get to know patients, Mountbatten staff and volunteers. Using what they have learned at daily interactive workshops, the performing arts students will stage a unique production, turning life stories into theatre, music and dance. Watch for free (and enjoy wine and canapes!) at Mountbatten’s community space and café, the John Cheverton Centre, in Halberry Lane, Newport between 18:30 and 20:00 next Wednesday (17th July). Free tickets can be secured in advance at www.mountbatten.org.uk/event/brit-school-show or by calling 01983 529511. Nigel Hartley, CEO of Mountbatten, says:
“This is the third year we have partnered with The BRIT School and it is always a pleasure to host such creative young people. “While they are with us, the students discover what a remarkable place Mountbatten is, by meeting patients, families, staff and volunteers. Meanwhile, we are always delighted to see the impact the experience has had on them. “We hope you will be able to join us on the night, to see their unique performance.”
