Island residents and businesses that use FedEx or TNT as parcel couriers could be affected by the suspension of some of their delivery services.
As of yesterday, the international couriers have suspended their domestic UK delivery services.
The delivery firms have announced that the suspension will be until further notice, but that their international services will continue to operate.
Shipments that have already entered the delivery network will be delivered but are expected to take longer to arrive. Meanwhile, life-critical shipments and perishable items will continue to be accepted.
So far, no precise reason has been given for the suspension, but it’s understood it could be in part due to a shortage of drivers.

Here’s your Brexit.
Vote Leave to get rid of the nasty foreigners, now shortages in several industries because Brits too lazy to take the vacant jobs (that allegedly were being ‘stolen’ from them in the first place).
It was still worth voting to leave. It’s got to get worse before it gets better
I agree Jim. I liked being part of the EU but they were propping up our broken political system. We had to leave so that we had a chance to getting a real democracy. Whilst we have 800+ unelected lords ruling our lives, state TV and an unelected head of state, we’re in a dictatorship.
Yes, good riddance for bad rubbish.
And now, big business will have to start paying the British working class a descent f’in wage instead of relying on cheap Eastern European’s to earn there rich shareholders a bucket load of cash for doing f’all. Innit tho !
Nothing to do with brexit. Brexit happened years ago did not have any shortages. It’s because covid is running rife and the government don’t care. When you loose 20% of your staff because they are ill something has to give.
