Detectives are investigating an alleged indecent assault after receiving a report of a man aged in his 40s or 50s acting suspiciously towards a 12-year-old girl at Grange Farm in Brook in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The incident occurred some time between 01:00 and 02:00 on Sunday morning (9th August).
The suspect is described as white, tall and of skinny build and aged in his late 40s or early 50s with short, white hair. He is said to have been wearing a waterproof-type coat.
Detective Inspector John Stirling of Newport CID said:
“We take matters of this nature extremely seriously and enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances.
“Specialist detectives remain in contact with the family of the 12-year-old girl, who was not hurt in the incident.
“There is no information to suggest a wider risk to the community. Our advice to parents and holiday park staff is to be alert, but not alarmed.”
