An inquest into the death of a 22-year-old man found hanged in a flat in Ryde back in the Summer has been opened and adjourned.
Police responded to St Thomas’ Street on 11th August after Tyler John Hetherington alerted his family of his intentions.
Officers forced entry to the property and attempted to resuscitate him.
The 22-year-old was taken by ambulance to St Mary’s Hospital, where he died shortly after midnight the following morning.
The cause of death has been recorded as hanging.
His Majesty’s Senior Coroner for the Isle of Wight, Caroline Sumeray, provisionally adjourned the inquest until 15th May 2026.
