Hovertravel has once again had to suspend its cross-Solent service due to a technical issue.
All crossings between Ryde and Southsea have been cancelled this morning (Friday) as commuters and shoppers head to and from the mainland on one of the last working days before Christmas.
It’s understood that a technical issue with Solent Flyer – the only craft currently available as Island Flyer remains at Griffin Hoverwork for significant maintenance – has led to the suspension of service.
Hovertravel had hoped to prevent a total suspension, advising of 30 minute delays earlier on. However, the problem has been deemed too significant for a quick repair with the next update now not due until 10:00.
UPDATE – Services have now resumed.

Wth is happening with this heap of crap.
Where are our MPs who pledged to sort this out?
Very strange how this seems to be happening on one of the busiest periods with the hover and ferry companies, one would think it was deliberate.
