Hose Rhodes Dickson is to permanently close its Bembridge office this week, Island Echo can reveal. A notice on the door of the High Street branch says that due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’, the office will be closed for the remainder of the week. However, it has been confirmed that the East Wight branch will, in fact, not be re-opening at all. A spokesperson for the business has told Island Echo that the branch is being ‘relocated’ due to the expiration of the building’s lease on Friday (21st June). In reality, HRD is losing its physical presence in Bembridge with the team servicing Bembridge clients from its flagship Ryde office instead. It comes almost 2 years after the local firm was taken over by the Leaders Roman group, as exclusively revealed by Island Echo in July 2022. In a statement, Hose Rhodes Dickson has said:
“Our commitment to serving our clients across the island remains steadfast, and we are confident in our ability to continue delivering our exceptional award-winning, personalised local service to all of our existing and future clients.”
For almost 30 years Hose Rhodes Dickson has been a staple of the High Street in Bembridge. The firm was established as Hose Rhodes in 1990, becoming Hose Rhodes Dickson in 1992 when Richard Dickson joined the team. The Bembridge office came about in 1995 when Waldron & Co merged with HRD. Other Hose Rhodes Dickson branches are located in Ryde, Shanklin, Ventnor, Freshwater, Cowes, East Cowes and Newport.
