A colourful new annual fundraiser is set to take place at Lakeside Hotel this March in support of Mountbatten and the Dementia UK Admiral Nurses (IW) Appeal.
A special Holi-themed fundraising evening will be held at Lakeside Park Hotel & Spa on 7th March 2026, raising money for Mountbatten Isle of Wight and the Dementia UK Admiral Nurses (IW) Appeal.
Hosted by Jessy and Arun Gulati, the event coincides with Holi, the Hindu festival of colours.
Former Paediatrician at St Mary’s Hospital, Arun Gulati, said:
“Don’t worry, we won’t be throwing colours or water at the event. But there will be the option to have a token of colour on your forehead or cheek, if you wish.”
The evening will begin with a classical Indian dance performance by Shree Dance Academy, followed by a cocktail reception from 18:30. Guests will be seated by 19:30 for a three-course dinner, with the night continuing in Bollywood style – alongside a little English dancing.
A silent auction will raise additional funds for the 2 charities, while entertainment on the night will include henna hand painting and a photo booth complete with Indian headgear. The dress code is either colourful or black tie, in Indian or English tradition – or a mix of both.
Arun Gulati added:
“We hope that this will become an annual event for the two charities. Jessy and I want to get involved with fundraising for these two wonderful causes that are close to all of our hearts.”
Lady Grylls said:
“Many of the individuals with life-threatening conditions who are being cared for at Mountbatten also have dementia.
“It is hoped that a benefactor/s or company with a charity account will be found willing to cover the cost of the appointment of a Nurse to be given mental health training by Dementia U.K.
“Thereafter, to fund the annual salary of the DUK appointed Nurse – together with their ongoing training. Each DUK trained Nurse appointed to support families in the community to be hosted by the Mountbatten Hospice Charity.”
Tickets are priced at £80 per person, including welcome drinks, a three-course dinner and all entertainment.
