Westridge Golf Club has reported another competitive week of golf, with standout performances and a memorable hole-in-one.
On Wednesday (23rd July), the Medal competition saw close results across both divisions. In Division 1, Trevor Gosset secured first place with an impressive 62 net, followed by Grenville Shipley in second with 63 net on countback, and Steve Hull also on 63 net taking third. Division 2 was led by John Clenton, who carded a superb 58 net, ahead of Martin Whitehead on 61 net and John Moorman on 62 net on countback.
The same day brought a special highlight when Steve Sansford achieved his first ever hole-in-one at the 4th Hole at Westridge, an accomplishment celebrated by members.
On Sunday (20th July), 48 members took part in the July Cup under cool, overcast conditions. The Greensomes Medal event ended in a countback victory for Walter Mallinson and Steve Hull, who posted 55 net. Runners-up William Humphries and Tom Moriarty also finished on 55 net, while 3rd place went to Ernie Moore and Trevor Gosset with 59 net. The competition was tight, with the top 11 pairs separated by just 2 shots.
