The hunt is on for a black Mercedes that is alleged to have smashed into 2 parked cars before being driven away from the scene in Ryde overnight.
A pale green Fiat 500 and a grey Toyota Yaris were both damaged in the incident, which occurred on Park Road near the junction with Daniel Street.
The Toyota was shunted onto the pavement, whilst the Fiat had its front wheel ripped off.
The suspect vehicle, a Mercedes-Benz SLK 250 AMG, sustained front end damage in the smash. As a result, the vehicle’s numberplate – WF12 WHR – was left on the ground.
The driver of the Merc failed to stop at the scene.
Should be easy to find the owner then
The standard of driving on the island is crap, maybe it’s
about time everyone had to take a re-test.
Hopefully you’ll include yourself in this or are you an non driver giving expert advice to drivers
I would be happy to take another test,
it’s the Numpty’s I worry about, majority of them
would fail.
You do come up with some jaw droppers, EIE but have excelled yourself today. Can you imagine or did you consider the cost and bureaucratic nightmare of re-testing every driver on the Island? Thought not. Besides, the incident reported had nothing to do with standards of driving. It was a simple hit and run with the driver absconding because he or (less likely) she had a very good reason or reasons for not hanging about. You really should try engaging your brain before rushing to comment.
Well said, although I have more than a sneaky impression EiE comments are in fact from an Ai perspective as totally random and pointless 99.9% of time.
Shouldn’t be hard to find the owner, although I suspect it might be reported as ‘stolen’ this morning…. ho hum another demolition derby hits the Island.
Ha ha unlucky merc driver? Serves you right, the poor people who now have to sort their car repairs out, you should now be made to pay?
Correct, all repair bills should be charged to the
Numpty who caused the damage.
The Mercedes should then be crushed and a
driving ban should be issued for not reporting
the accident.
