Retained firefighters from Freshwater have successfully rescued a trapped bird from the tower of Brook Church this evening (Tuesday).
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were requested to attend the church to free a jackdaw which had become trapped by its leg towards the top of the church.
Firefighters used a 135 ladder and working at height equipment to reach the bird and bring it back down to earth.
