A teenager has been jailed for 32-months for stabbing a boy at Puckpool near Ryde back in November 2020.
Liam Williams, 19, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent after he stabbed a 16-year-old boy who was out with friends on Halloween night almost 18 months ago.
At around 01:30 on 1st November 2020, Williams became involved in a verbal altercation with the victim and his friends on Appley Walk, which quickly turned physical.
Williams pulled out a knife, threatening those present, and a physical altercation took place. He then proceeded to stab the victim 4 times in the chest and abdomen.
After the stabbing, Williams went back to his home address where he deliberately smashed his neighbour’s car windscreen. He then left home carrying another knife, but discarded this before being stopped by Police.
Police arrested Williams, who was 18 at the time of the offences, and in addition to GBH he was charged with possession of a knife in a public place and criminal damage.
Williams admitted all 3 offences when he appeared at Newport Crown Court on 10th January this year. Appearing at the same court on Thursday (3rd March 2022), he was jailed for 32 months.
Detective Constable Mark Thomas said:
“The immeasurable harm that knives cause is well documented, and this is another shocking example of the consequences of carrying a knife.
“As soon as you make that decision to pick up a bladed weapon, you create the very real risk of seriously injuring or killing someone.
“Williams made the conscious decision to pull out that knife and use it against the boy. His intentions to use it were clear, and his guilty pleas are evidence of that.
“He could have killed that boy. That is the frightening reality.
“To anyone carrying a knife, or thinking of carrying a knife – don’t do it. One bad decision could seal the fate of yourself and others.”

If you carry a knife you are intent on hurting someone which could result in murder – 32 months – with good behaviour he will be out in much less and probably learnt a lot more heinous ways of hurting people. Name and face to remember as he looks as though he has the devil in him. Just hope he can prove me wrong.

Total chav is she? Shame her lawless ways have obviously tarnished her son. These kids don’t stand a chance if they’re born into this life with bad parents. He’s in prison because he has had a very poor upbringing by the woman who delivered him into this world. A caring, loving Mother should bring her children up and teach them right from wrong. Not the case here, obviously!

I’m sure I see a video of that man being attacked by the group of boys Including some boy who punched a girl in back of her head He shouldn’t of stabbed no one But he was the one who was attacked Did any of the others get arrested?
Without the full facts or being present at the time, nobody would know what really happened, but nevertheless an 18 year old is only a year short of being a child in the eyes of the law so the remark that Isle of Wighter made about him getting his face pressed into the floor in jail is just condoning violence.
Two wrongs don’t make a right.
Knives are extremely dangerous weapons and anyone carrying one risks causing serious injuries and/or a fatality when these weapons are used in the heat of the moment, being self defence or otherwise.
People STILL do not learn to leave them in the kitchen drawer where they belong and using ONLY for food preparation.
So unnecessary.

32 months absolutely terrible sentence should of had 10 years at least never going to stop these people with poor sentence like that scum bags need to be punished hardere
