Osborne Coburg’s ‘A’ side has officially won the Isle of Wight Combination 2 title for the 2024/25 season following a ruling by the Hampshire FA.
Oakfield Reserves had been named as champions after appealing a draw against Sandown & Lake ‘A’ in which they claimed their opponents had used an ineligible player. The additional 2 points for Oakfield were sufficient for the Ryde-based side to win the Combi 2 title on goal difference.
However, after the Isle of Wight Divisional Football Association had ruled in favour of Oakfield, the decision was subsequently overturned by the Hampshire FA.
It is now officially confirmed that Osborne Coburg A are the 2024/25 winners of Isle of Wight Combination 2, having finished their season 2 points ahead of Oakfield Reserves.
Osborne Coburg ‘A’ manager, Hayden Hughes, has commented:
