A 57-year-old woman who threatened her own husband with a kitchen knife will learn her fate in December.
Irene Lord, currently on remand at HMP Bronzefield, admitted a single count of threatening a person with an offensive weapon/bladed article/corrosive substance in a private place when she appeared at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on Monday (27th October).
Prosecutor Tim Devlin told the court that on 23rd September this year, at an address on Ash Road, Newport, Lord threatened her husband, Michael, with a kitchen knife.
The 57-year-old was subsequently arrested and charged and has been remanded in custody since.
Lord was of good character up until the age of 50, when she was convicted of battery.
The case against Irene Lord has been adjourned for sentencing on 11th December, with a pre-sentence report to be compiled.
The Crown Prosecution Service chose to leave another charge, of making threats to kill, on Lord’s file.
