Gritters will be salting the Island’s roads again during the early hours of tomorrow morning (Saturday) as the last of the bitterly cold weather begins to move away. The fleet of gritters will leave the Island Roads Stag Lane depot at 05:00. It is the 6th day in a row that gritters have been deployed in a bid to keep the Island’s roads free of ice. But there is positive news on the horizon as the overnight lows will increase to around 5-7 on Saturday night – a stark contrast to the -7.6c recorded in Sandown on Monday.
