It is set to be a cold start to Christmas Day, so much so that the Island’s fleet of gritters will be treating the road network overnight.
Island Roads says that its gritters will be deployed on a full salt run, on the usual routes, from 19:00 tonight (Christmas Eve).
The mercury is set to fall as the day goes on, with road surfaces temperatures approaching 0c.
A spokesperson for Island Roads has said:
“Please take additional care where you are on the network.
“Have a safe and happy Christmas”.
