UPDATED: Emergency services are this morning (Friday) attending a road traffic collision in Binstead after a vehicle careered into a traffic island.
A Silver VW Golf, travelling towards Ryde, collided with the island and a lamppost shortly before 09:20 prompting Police and ambulance crews to respond to the incident.
The incident has taken place outside Treefields on the main Ryde to Newport road, close to Ryde Golf Club.
Island Echo understands there have been no serious injuries.
Traffic is slightly delayed in the area, but free flowing. Delays to Route 4 & 9 buses are minimal.
UPDATE @ 10:12 – Island Roads are now present on the scene clearing debris from the road. The vehicle is awaiting recovery.
