Husband and wife team Russell and Jodie Dyke have revived Godshill Cider Barn ahead of an anticipated busy Summer season.
The pair, originally from London, have long since harboured ambitions of opening such a business on the Island having holidayed here for years and they are thrilled that their hard work has finally paid off.
Selling much more than just cider, Island Echo was fortunate enough to get a sneak preview of the new establishment and the wide range of local produce that it will sell including wares from Island companies including Goddards, Yates, Grazed Knee, Tipsy Wight, The Garlic Farm, Adgestone Vineyard and others. They will also sell sausage rolls from Bembridge and honey from all over the Island.
Supporting the local community and sourcing local products is key for Russell and Jodie who have been overwhelmed by the help and support they have received from friends, neighbours and even the Isle of Wight Council in order to realise their dream.
Russell said:
“Everyone has been so helpful and we have bought local wherever we could. The children are at Godshill primary and the other parents there have been great as well.”
They will also be organising taster events where punters will get the chance to sample the various products.
The Godshill Cider Barn is now open from 09:00 to 18:00, Monday to Saturday and from 10:00 to 16:00 on Sundays. It is hoped that the Barn will remain open all year round.

Heat or eat.no drink.
As a tourist to the Island this is such welcome news. Looking forward to having a look at the Cider Barn. It’s always a must see. My family and I always visit Godshill as it’s such a lovely place. Cider barn then on to the Chocolate Island then up to the church. And a sneaky second visit to the Cider Barn ha ha
